Registered Nurse (RN) - PreOp / PACU

About the role

Provides leadership and support in the PreOp / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care unit, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care. The role involves leadership in nursing practice, staff support, and operational management within hospital surgical and PACU services. The position emphasizes quality, safety, staff development, and resource oversight to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assists in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices at the unit level.
• Assumes 24/7 responsibility for Same Day Surgery and PACU operations.
• Supports the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in managing nursing and patient care services.
• Ensures clinical staff competency and optimal resource management.
• Provides leadership, mentorship, and serves as a professional role model for nursing staff.
• Performs related duties to maintain operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Active, current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting, such as a manager or charge nurse.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for nursing professionalism.
• Educational background in nursing (minimum academic degree).
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nursing.
