Registered Nurse (RN) (Per-Diem) - Pediatric Sub-Acute

About the role

The Bernardy Center is a 5-star rated pediatric subacute and long-term care facility that helps patients and their families transition from the acute care environment by providing additional support and parent education prior to going home. The Bernardy Center team provides more than just medical support. Because they are children first, the developmental, emotionally and physical well-being of each child is the focus of care. Bernardy staff participate with the children in community as well as unit activities.

Responsibilities

• Independently apply the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation & documentation of pediatric patient care.
• Selects & administers the appropriate care, taking into consideration the age, developmental level & size of the patient.
• Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health, healing & quality of life.
• Able to identify own limitations & seeks resources, as needed.
• Acts as role model & resource person providing clinical leadership to other staff members & ensures quality clinical practices, skills, & developmentally appropriate activities for the residents.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree
• 1 year of experience
• Current California RN license
• BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by American Heart Association
• Helen M. Bernardy Center Skilled Nursing Unit: PEARS (American Heart Association) within six months of hire
• Helen M. Bernardy Center Pediatric Subacute Unit: PALS (American Heart Association) within six months of hire

Qualifications

• Minimum One Year Of Supervisory Experience
• Experience working with ventilator-dependent children and children with developmental disabilities

Pay

The current salary range for this position is $53.27 to $88.00. A candidate’s placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
