About the role

Ambulatory Registered Nurses use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. They manage patient teaching, communication, triage, and documentation in Epic. They ensure patient safety, privacy, and timely response to clinical needs. They collaborate with the care team, support quality improvement, promote evidence-based practice, and uphold PRIDE values and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Uses the nursing process effectively (assessing the patient and situation, identifying the problem, planning, implementing, and evaluating care through the health care continuum).
  • Demonstrates competent clinical skills.
  • Coordinates and completes patient assessment and re-assessment to positively impact on quality outcomes.
  • Affords respectful and courteous responses to patients and families.
  • Maintains a safe environment for team members and patients/visitors: physical, psychological, and environmental.
  • Utilizes the HRO safety principles.
  • Reports all injuries (patient or staff) using event reporting system.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medication and vaccine administration according to policy, carries out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains competency in use of all needed information systems.
  • Pursues and participates in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • RN license, valid in the State of N.J
  • American Heart Association- Basic Life Support (BLS) credential

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years’ clinical practice, ambulatory practice
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Skills

  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of medication and vaccine administration
  • Ability to document patient care accurately and timely
