The RN PICU position is a 0.6 FTE - Straight Night role with 12-hour shifts and every third weekend 12-hour shifts. Critical care experience is required, with pediatric experience preferred. PALS and BLS certifications are also required.
About the role
Join Gillette Children’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where nurses deliver specialized, high-acuity care to patients from infancy through young adulthood. You'll support critically ill, recovering, or healing patients, collaborating with a skilled, multidisciplinary team to manage complex conditions.
Responsibilities
- Administer family-centered nursing care
- Advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention
- Navigate the health care system as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical, surgical, or rehabilitative needs of patients and their families
- Work in a high-pressure environment while providing exceptional care to patients with challenging and complex conditions
Requirements
- Completion of professional nursing program (RN program)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the MN Board of Nursing
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- PALS certification
- Physically able to work hours required and meet physical demands of the position
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field (preferred)
- Prior nursing experience in a health-related setting (preferred)
- Nursing Specialty Certification relevant to the position (preferred)

- Ability to provide specialized care for critically ill/injured infants, children, and adolescents
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while providing exceptional care
