Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric Care Center (Part Time)

About the role

ChristianaCare is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Care Center located within the Women’s & Children’s building on the Newark Campus. The center features 14 beds and provides a unique blend of emergency and general pediatric acute care, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As a Pediatric Care Center RN you will care for patients from birth through age 17 with a wide range of conditions, including RSV, sepsis, asthma, fractures, gastrointestinal illnesses, head and body injuries, high fevers, infections, abdominal pain, and more. Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients (birth‑17) with conditions such as RSV, sepsis, asthma, fractures, GI illnesses, head/body injuries, high fevers, infections, abdominal pain, etc.
• Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments, and perform procedures as ordered.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Deliver family‑centered care, educating and supporting patients and their families.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• BSN required or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire.
• Two years of Acute Care RN experience strongly preferred.
• Pediatric, pediatric emergency, emergency department, or critical care experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware.
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS & PALS certifications preferred.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $42.11 – $67.37

Schedule

Part‑time, 48 hours per pay period; Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); Weekend & Holiday commitment per department guidelines.
