Haverhill Pavilion Behavioral Health Hospital provides superior mental health services via a 50-bed adult inpatient program and a 21-bed geriatric inpatient program. We are located in Haverhill, MA and serve adults over the age of 19, including a specialized geriatric unit for adults over the age of 50.
Pay
$36.25–$47.50 per hour, plus shift differentials available.

Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate professional nursing care with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude to foster a supportive and therapeutic environment.
- Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs; develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about physical and behavioral health conditions.
- Provide care within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state regulations, facility policies, and Nurse Practice Act.
- Ensure physicians’ orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy.
- Assess and document patients’ status on an ongoing basis; notify physicians of significant changes such as detox difficulties, medical emergencies, or medication responses.
- Complete initial nursing treatment plans upon admission and ensure all plans are specific to assessed needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in direct patient care.
- Accurately administer medications and document controlled substance counts as required.
- Complete admission and discharge processing efficiently and accurately.
- Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, respecting personal space, and maintaining rational detachment.
- Provide direction or coordinate unit activities as directed.
- Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co-workers, and others involved in treatment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to practice nursing in the state of employment.
- One year of nursing experience; psychiatric, mental health, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience preferred.
- CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
