Registered Nurse (RN), PACU
About the role
Your Experience Matters at UP Health System - Marquette. As a PACU RN, you'll be part of a team supporting twelve (12) ORs, providing safe, vigilant post-operative care and ensuring smooth, secure patient transitions after anesthesia.
Responsibilities
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Maintains vigilance over patient condition and communicates as necessary to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Aids patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates with other disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
- A current Michigan RN license.
- A current Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
- An advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year.
- A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year.
Qualifications
- A minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's degree preferred).
Skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and procedures.
- Knowledge of patient care documentation systems.

Pay
$7,500 Sign-On Bonus available to qualified applicants.
Schedule
8-hour Day Shifts with varying start times between 5:15a and 1:30p, rotating to Pre-op, PACU, and Post-op, and rotating holidays.
On Call
4 x Call Shifts/6 week schedule, frequently rotating to Pre-op, PACU, and Post-op.
