About the Role
Provides high-quality, patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure positive patient outcomes. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects. Demonstrates age-appropriate care and supports professional development, serving as a role model and mentor.
Responsibilities
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments
- Manages pain with appropriate tools and educates patients and families
- Develops and revises individualized care plans in collaboration with the team
- Administers medications accurately, adhering to medication rights and understanding drug effects
- Ensures patient safety and documents care and responses timely and accurately
- Assists with procedures such as airway management, line insertions, and epidural placement
- Monitors cardio-respiratory systems and manages airway and anesthetic drugs
- Communicates patient status effectively for safe care transfers
- Provides patient and family education, evaluates teaching effectiveness
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with an active RN license in the respective state
- Certification in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (must be obtained if not already held)
- Basic computer skills and effective verbal/written communication
