About the role
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Outpatient Adult Infusion – O/P Treatment Area at Morris Cancer Center in New Brunswick campus. This is an Infusion RN position.
Pay
The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $47.85 - $71.72 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Schedule
- Day Shift, Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday (1 per month)
- 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM and 1 late shift per week (9:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice, including reporting hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Understand and address the needs of the patient population served.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other patient care providers.
- Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
- Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize plans to address specific patient needs.
- Maintain and advance personal knowledge and that of the patient care team through communication and utilization of available resources.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- BLS and ACLS certification
- BSN
- At least 1 year of Oncology RN experience
- ONS Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification (required or must obtain prior to start date)
- At least 1 year working as RN in an oncology setting administering chemotherapy
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with chemotherapy regimens, safe handling, and infusion nursing practice
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of Oncology RN experience
- OCN certification (required or obtained within 1 year of hire)
- Outpatient oncology infusion RN experience
