Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) | Medical Oncology Breast Clinic

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to patients and families.
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare team members to provide excellent patient care.
• Performs general nursing care to patients, including administering prescribed medications and treatments.
• Captures and documents patient information in the patient chart.
• Coordinates patient care activities for the clinic, including preparing equipment and assisting providers during procedures.
• Assists with appointment scheduling and ensures patient preferences are given priority.
• Maintains exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials, ensuring cleanliness.
• Documents vitals and conducts nursing assessments.
• Trains patients on sample collection and test preparation.
• Responds to patient phone calls, providing timely support using protocols and critical thinking.
• Educates patients and families about diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and maintaining health and wellness.
• Suggests solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints.
• Prepares a list of medical supplies needed and assures appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol.
• Performs quality control and maintains records on all lab testing.

Requirements

• Must be able to work the hours specified.
• Active license in the state of practice upon hire.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing.
