Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Administers skilled nursing care to patients according to their physical and emotional needs.
- Affirms the medical plan of care to include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients in the center as appropriate.
- Assists with precepting new clinical employees and student nurses.
- Affirms medications and monitors patients for adverse drug reactions in the center.
- Affirms patient/family education for continuation of care.
- Affirms assisting MD/NP during examinations and treatments.
- Affirms performing triage expectations as appropriate to specific populations.
- Affirms collecting specimens by proper procedure (urine, stool, wound, throat cultures, etc.).
- Affirms assisting patients to prepare for examinations or treatment.
- Affirms performing EKG's upon the request of the provider.
- Affirms responding to telephone call-backs as directed by the provider.
- Affirms assisting the Director of Nursing in supervising activities in the clinical areas.
- Affirms informing the Chief Clinical Officer of staffing issues and patient needs.
- Affirms assisting in providing PI reports for improving quality of patient care.
- Affirms performing other clinical duties as assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program or licensed practical nursing program and licensed to practice in South Carolina by the SC State Board of Nursing.
- Two years clinical experience in a primary care setting preferred.
- Current CPR certification required.
