Registered Nurse RN OR Coordinator Lead

Job Summary

Provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patients in the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeons continuously regarding patient conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience with emphasis on cardiovascular patient care
• Maximum of 5 years of cardiovascular knowledge
• BSN required
• Current Texas RN license
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification

• Strives to meet customer needs and respond to concerns with urgency
• Educates patients and families on disease management, procedures, and signs requiring follow-up
• Builds effective relationships and seeks opportunities for improvement
• Maintains and addresses communication tools to resolve issues
• Safeguards patient confidentiality and acts as patient advocate
• Prepares and analyzes pre-procedure data, consults with multidisciplinary teams
• Controls costs without compromising patient safety or quality of care
• Maintains and updates preference cards as needed
• Follows up on post-procedure care
