Registered Nurse, RN – Operating Room, New Competitive Pay!
Job Overview
The RN II independently provides direct nursing care to patients and their families in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices.
About the Role
Location: Main Campus- Operating Room
Hours: 36 Hours Shift: Day/Evenings
Unit Summary: Our Main Operating Room is staffed 24/7 to accommodate surgery at any time. The OR suite is made up of thirteen surgical rooms including a dedicated pediatric room and orthopedic suites. The recovery area has twelve bays and a specialized peri-operative nursing team to provide close monitoring of patients during the recovery process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Massachusetts RN Licensure
- 12 Months - Less than 3 Years of RN Experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Department Specific
Certification(s) relevant to the department and the type of patient care being provided may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of MA in good standing is required
- BSN is strongly preferred
- Candidates with an Associate’s degree in nursing may be considered, and are encouraged to enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire
- A minimum of 1-2 years in telemetry or intermediate care setting is preferred
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
Physical Requirements
- Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and turning patients
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting
- Exposure to infectious disease and possible carcinogenic chemicals
- Exposure of blood-borne pathogens
- Requires fine manual dexterity to lift and maneuver patients
- Requires visual and aural acuity necessary to monitor patient care
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team
- Knowledge of and application of the nursing process
