Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients within the operating room.
• Performs assessments and interventions to keep patients safe during surgery.
• Involves patient, family, and healthcare team members in formulating an individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
• Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and healthcare team members.
• Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
• Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
• Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
• Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and provides continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.

Requirements

• BSN degree required or in progress.
• Missouri RN license.
• 2+ years of Operating Room experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within one year of employment).

Preferred Qualifications

• CNOR highly preferred.
• Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery, orthopedic, and spine experience a plus.
