Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

About the role

The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process. They are responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during surgical procedures as well as preparing the operating room, handling surgical equipment, and collaborating with the surgical team. The OR RN will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and adhere to the highest standards and practice of patient safety, infection control and professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Scrubbing in and circulating in a variety of OR specialty areas such as Robotics, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Transplant, Neurology, Thoracic, Trauma, Cardiac, Vascular, ENT/Head and Neck, GYN, Urology and Bariatrics
• Participation in complex surgeries using the latest technology in our state-of-the-art surgical suites
• Serving as an integral member of the perioperative team and advocate for patients undergoing anesthesia and/or sedation
• Working cooperatively with the multidisciplinary care team to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the perioperative setting
• Participating in shared clinical decision-making

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) degree
• Prior operating room experience or completion of a perioperative 101 course
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) certification is preferred

Pay

$45.55 – $61.17 per hour (anticipated hourly wage range for New Jersey; final compensation depends on education, skills, and experience).
