Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology Service Line

Location: Avera Cancer Institute-Sioux Falls. Travel may be required across Cancer Institute locations in South Dakota (Mitchell, Yankton, Pierre, Aberdeen, Sioux Falls). Primary role is in infusion with backfill in clinic; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM. May be eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

About the role

Delivers nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team. Develops nursing diagnoses, care objectives, and interventions; provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Coordinates with healthcare providers, evaluates changing conditions, and maintains a safe, secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the healthcare team.
• Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting conditions, and establishing care objectives.
• Teach patients, families, and friends about conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
• Evaluate patient care by measuring health outcomes against standards, reviewing records, and adjusting care plans as needed.
• Maintain a safe patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies, medication procedures, and legal regulations.
• Document patient care services in records and maintain patient care equipment and supplies.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (upon hire).
• ONS Fundamentals Provider Card or ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card within 60 days of hire, and maintain certification thereafter.
• Visual acuity and communication skills adequate to perform position duties.
• Ability to work specified hours and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous oncology experience.

Pay

$27.75 – $46.25 per hour, dependent upon experience.
