About the role

Accountable for staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent and a leader in the area of support. Develops nursing expertise and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced-based clinical practice. This occurs through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development.

Responsibilities

  • Provides staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent and leader.
  • Develops and identifies clinical prevention strategies in area of expertise.
  • Supports the development of the nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence through the delivery of evidenced-based clinical practice through the facilitation of the educational process through assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency assessment, continuing education and leadership development.
  • Proactively participates in continuing education with a goal of enhancement of clinical practice.
  • Serves as a resource in the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical protocols and practice management guidelines essential to assure compliance with care standards.
  • Collaborates with the director/manager to develop and implement an education and orientation plan in clinical area of focus.
  • Coaches and provides feedback to staff regarding their nursing care.
  • Delegates, supervises, and evaluates nursing care given by others while retaining accountability for the quality of care given to the patients and provides input to nursing leadership as necessary.
  • Contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues and others.
  • Assists in compiling and presenting optimal care standards via case reviews of patients for internal and regional committees.

Qualifications

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - An active license in the state of practice - Upon Hire
  • 1-3 years Nursing experience

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Specialty Certification - Area of Nursing Practice - Certification Board within 1 Year

Pay

$29.00 - $43.25 per hour, dependent upon experience. May be eligible for a $6000 sign on bonus.
