Registered Nurse (RN), Nursery

About the role

The Nursery at Wilson Medical Center is a well-baby nursery and a 2-bed level II nursery serving newborns greater than 32 weeks' gestation. The nursery supports more than 800 newborns annually.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Completes and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments

Requirements

• Current state RN license
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
• One year of experience preferred

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring
• Accomplished in performing patient assessments and identifying patient needs
• Experience in initiating appropriate nursing interventions and documenting medical necessity
• Ability to provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient
• Knowledge of Quality Improvement (QI) assessment processes
