Registered Nurse (RN) Non Invasive Cardiology

About the role

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse for the Non‑Invasive Cardiology department in Charlottesville, VA. The position is a day‑shift role with no call or night work. Ideal candidates have experience with EKG, stress testing, and telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Supervise stress testing procedures and monitor placement.
• Provide backup support for CCTA, MRI, and cardiac PET scans.
• Deliver competent nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Coordinate care, teach patients, and promote health.
• Adhere to standards of professional performance, including ethics, cultural competence, communication, collaboration, leadership, evidence‑based practice, and quality improvement.
• Manage complex cases in a fast‑paced environment.
• Provide intra‑procedural patient care, monitoring, and moderate sedation.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing (required).
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Active Registered Nursing license (required).
• ACLS certification required prior to completion of orientation.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• 1–2 years of experience in Cath/EP Lab, radiology, or cardiac step‑down (preferred).
• Critical care experience in a hospital setting (required).

Skills

• Proficiency with EKG/telemetry monitoring.
• Experience conducting and supervising stress tests.
• Ability to manage complex, fast‑paced clinical situations.
• Knowledge of intra‑procedural monitoring and moderate sedation.

Pay

• Base pay range: $41.93 – $61.01 per hour (full‑time).
• Sign‑on bonus up to $15,000 for qualified candidates.

Schedule

• 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
• One Saturday day shift (4 hours, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.) every third week.

• First (days) shift – no nights, no call.
