Registered Nurse RN - NOC PER DIEM

Willow Springs Center is looking for compassionate, caring, and dedicated NOC Per Diem Registered Nurses for our Residential Treatment Facility in Reno, Nevada. About the role

Our Nurses provide professional nursing care to youth in a residential treatment setting, adhering to the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities include identifying patient healthcare needs through physical and behavioral assessments, developing nursing care plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure optimal care. Nurses administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and document findings while maintaining the safety, health, and well-being of the children in a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient healthcare needs using professional nursing assessment skills, including physical and behavioral evaluations.
• Make comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations of health needs, noting subtle abnormalities and changes in condition.
• Develop nursing care plans by assessing patients’ psychological and physical conditions, creating treatment and health education plans based on predicted needs.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams and collaborate with professional and paraprofessional staff.
• Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct time, dosage, and route of administration while monitoring for side effects or allergic reactions.
• Observe patients to determine medication effectiveness and document findings appropriately.
• Maintain the safety, health, and well-being of children in a therapeutic environment.
• Make crucial decisions to restrain patients who pose a threat to themselves or others, including those who may be hostile or combative.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting; prior psychiatric experience preferred.
• Minimum of 36 hours per month, including full 12-hour shifts and partial shifts.
