Registered Nurse RN Nights Emergency

About the Role
The Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (RN) works in a collaborative environment at St Mary’s Health Care System to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience in a 25-bed unit that cares for patients from infants to geriatrics, specializing in Cardiology and Stroke care.
Under limited supervision, the RN is responsible for assessing patients, developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan, and performing complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise. RNs function as members of both the Care Team and Support Team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
The RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame, providing care via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop, evaluate, and modify care plans.
- Perform complex patient-care procedures specific to expertise.
- Function as a member of the Care Team and Support Team to accomplish patient outcomes.
- Provide care through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and collaboration with healthcare team members.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the care of a designated group of patients.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to programs in Georgia.
- Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
- Prior experience in an emergency department or related field preferred.
