About the role

Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway Bedford, TX 76022. Work hours: Full-Time, Night Shift, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hour shifts, 6:30 pm – 6:30 am. Self-Scheduling.

NICU Department Highlights

  • 16 bed NICU unit with an average of 200 deliveries a month
  • Level III NICU
  • Maternal Designation III

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse license upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
  • NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days required
  • 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
  • 1 year of RN experience in NICU strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
  • Delivery of high quality of patient care through nursing education, nursing research and innovations in nursing practice
