Registered Nurse (RN) MUSC Florence 6th Floor Inpatient Oncology - PRN
About the role
This is an awesome PRN opportunity for an experienced nurse interested in Inpatient Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
- Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members.
- Provides patient/family centered care focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
- Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment.
- Demonstrates ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model.
- Coordinates the effective and efficient delivery of patient care services.
- Identifies clinical priorities and initiates action to improve patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates ability to function in a professional practice model through active participation in shared governance.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (or equivalent)
- Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.
- Visual acuity and color perception.
- Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues.
- Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care.
- Mobility to navigate clinical environments.
- Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment.
