About the Role
Responsible for providing direct nursing care to assigned patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Provides intensive nursing care to acutely ill medical and/or surgical inpatients. Responsibilities include performance improvement initiatives, utilization of the nursing process in the provision of care, communication skills, flexibility, quality improvement activities, and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to ICU patients
- Care for acutely ill medical and surgical inpatients
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives
- Utilize the nursing process in care delivery
- Participate in the Rapid Response Team and Cardiac Arrest Team as assigned
- Perform critical care duties including but not limited to: IABP, IV insertion, care of the ventilator patient, ABG’s, Swan Ganz, Arterial Lines, care of the post open heart patient, and care of the patient requiring CRRT
- Comprehensive Crisis Management per policy
Requirements
- Current PA RN license
- Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- ACLS certification within one year of hire/transfer
- Act 33/73 clearances
- Clinical rotation through educational program (minimum)
- Prior med-surg experience and arrhythmia interpretation (preferred)
- Critical Care experience (preferred)
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program (minimum)
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (preferred)
- CCRN certification (preferred)
