About the role
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Medical Unit II (also known as South Building Medical Unit/SBMU) at the New Brunswick campus. Medical Unit II is comprised of 14 beds, each with a bedside monitor and the capability for step-down ICU/progressive care. We care for a vast array of medical patients including, but not limited to, GI bleeds, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, adhering to ethical standards as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
- Ensure safety in practice, including reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
- Maintain awareness of the patient population served and set/evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes.
- Supervise and direct the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient care providers.
- Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address specific patient needs.
- Assume responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others on the patient care team through communication and utilization of available resources.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- ASN or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred or must be completed within 5 years upon hire).
- At least 1 year of RN experience (preferred).
- Telemetry and intermediate care experience (preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 36 hours per week.
- Monday – Friday with some weekend and holiday rotation.
Pay
The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $47.85 - $71.72 per hour. The compensation offered will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
