Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical Telemetry 36 hours, Rotating

About the Role

Join the growing BILH team on Johnson 3, an exciting 32-bed medical telemetry unit that uses evidence-based practice to compassionately and expertly care for patients with stroke, cardio-pulmonary disorders, and acute infections including sepsis. This is the designated stroke unit, providing opportunities to grow bedside neurological assessment skills. The unit employs a comprehensive team approach to care for patients aged 18 and older with stable cardiac and medical conditions, including diabetes, congestive heart failure, acute blood clots, respiratory care, and stroke care. A new telemetry monitoring system allows staff to assess and treat cardiac arrhythmias (chronic or acute) during the patient’s stay.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessments, administer medications, perform wound treatments, observe patient’s progress, and evaluate therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop optimal health care strategy plans for each patient.
• Support and educate patients and their loved ones to achieve maximum outcomes.
• Provide patient education, including diabetes teaching, congestive heart failure checklists, and discharge planning instructions.

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Basic telemetry experience or successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Care of the telemetry patient within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $84.71 per hour. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and compensation is governed by its terms.
