About the role
The Banner Estrella Medical Center Medical/Surgical Oncology 5B Unit is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the team. The unit operates on a 5:1 ratio both days and nights, providing care to acute care and post-surgical patients. The position involves 24-hour Hospitalist coverage and access to a wide range of ancillary services.
Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.
- Plans and coordinates care for patients, including the development of discharge plans.
- Delegates tasks to other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Evaluates patient progress and adjusts care plans as necessary.
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Participates in ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
- Current RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure.
- BLS certification.
- One year experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Experience in oncology nursing is preferred.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Passing score on the NCLEX-RN.
