About the role

As a Med Surg RN joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains patient safety and comfort by monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Aids patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Requirements

  • Current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Handle With Care (HWC) certifications within 90 days of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

Pay

$10,000 Sign-On Bonus available to eligible applicants.

Schedule

3x12; 7a-7p; Rotating Weekends
