About the role
PRN Nights, In‑Person position at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV, a 300‑bed facility part of Lifepoint Health.
The 4N department is a dynamic 44‑bed medical‑surgical unit with a 6:1 patient ratio, serving a blend of surgical and medical cases with a special emphasis on renal care. The team is known for strong collaboration, making it a welcoming environment for new graduates. Nurses gain experience with various lines, chest tubes, peritoneal dialysis, and telemetry patients. The Infusions Clinic operates Monday‑Thursday as an outpatient infusion center staffed solely by RNs. The Dialysis Unit provides inpatient hemodialysis 24 hours a day, six days a week, with on‑call coverage each Sunday, delivered by RNs with specialized dialysis expertise.
Responsibilities
- Performs accurate and thorough patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Initiates appropriate nursing interventions based on assessment findings
- Provides age‑ and condition‑appropriate nursing care
- Completes timely and accurate documentation supporting medical necessity in the medical record
- Develops, implements, and revises interdisciplinary care plans for each patient
Requirements
- Current state RN license
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required within six months of hire
- One year of experience preferred
- Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) certification preferred
