Registered Nurse (RN)/ MED SURG WEIGHT LOSS
Department: MED SURG WEIGHT LOSS – Full Time, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (72 hours per pay period) at Miami Valley Hospital. Sign-on bonus available.
About the role
The clinical nurse (CN) functions in a multi-faceted role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of Nursing. The CN is responsible for maintaining high standards for a caseload of patients as described by the scope of care for the area of practice and demonstrates appropriate actions based on sound scientific research and evidence-based principles. The CN also coordinates and directs care delivered by the interdisciplinary team, provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support, and directly or indirectly impacts patient outcomes and care provided to patients, families, and significant others.
Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards for patient caseload within the scope of care for the practice area.
- Coordinate and direct care delivered by the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients, families, and significant others.
- Ensure compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire (proof of enrollment required within 6 months of hire).
- RNs with a minimum of 2 years of acute care hospital experience may elect to forgo the BSN requirement by signing a Professional Certification MOU, which must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
- Valid Ohio Registered Nurse License.
- Current AHA BLS certification required upon hire.
