About the role
As a Registered Nurse in Med Surg, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team. Your role will involve assessing patients, performing procedures, administering medications, and educating patients and families. You will act as an advocate for patients, ensuring an outstanding experience and positive clinical outcomes while embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values.
Responsibilities
- Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in case of unintended reactions.
- Respond promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipate needs, and resolve concerns.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures, translating complex terminology for clarity.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Associate Degree in Nursing (required).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
