About the role

This full-time, day-shift role provides direct clinical patient care. The RN assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per-shift basis and at the unit level. The role includes supervision of staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and accountability to support the CNO in ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and resource management related to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients
  • Assume responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
  • Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
  • Coordinate and plan patient care within the prescribed medical regime
  • Administer all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy
  • Perform and fulfill all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed during emergencies and/or disasters
  • Know the hospital’s emergency codes, including their purpose and appropriate actions, and adhere to hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (preferred)
  • 1 year of RN experience for PRN status (required)
  • Recent acute care experience (preferred)
  • Current RN license, certification, or registration as required by law, regulation, or policy
  • AHA BLS certification (required)
  • AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP certifications as applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire (if required)
