About the role
The Patient Safety Manager oversees hospital-wide patient safety programs, focusing on reducing medical errors and adverse outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety assessments, investigations, and root cause analyses to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate patient safety activities, facilitate safety committees, and educate staff on system-based causes of errors.
- Ensure timely reporting, review, and closure of safety events, routing issues to appropriate departments.
- Communicate safety strategies and literature-based ideas organization-wide.
- Notify Risk Management of potential risks and maintain compliance with audits and monitoring.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a patient care-related field.
- 5+ years of clinical practice and healthcare leadership experience.
- CPPS certification or eligibility to take the exam within one year.
- Preferred: 2 years in Patient Safety, Quality, Risk Management, or healthcare operations.
