About the Role

The Burn Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center (formerly Saint Barnabas Medical Center) is the only state-certified burn treatment facility in New Jersey and one of the largest in North America. With 12 intensive care beds and an 18-bed step-down unit for less critically injured patients, the Burn Center provides expert care for patients of all ages. We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to care for our patients in their time of need.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Nursing)
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Must be I.V. certified from an approved facility or complete requirements for I.V. certification within 90 days of hire
• Completion of all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs

Certifications and Licenses Required

• The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Schedule

• Full-Time, Evening Shift (7P-8A)
• 37.5 hours per week, 12.5-hour shift
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday rotations

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Adhere to ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics
• Ensure safety in practice, including reporting hazardous environments and medical errors
• Understand the patient population served
• Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members
• Collaborate with other patient care providers
• Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes
• Participate in patient teaching and discharge planning
• Engage in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities
• Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize plans to address specific patient needs

Pay

The anticipated hourly wage range for this position is $47.85 – $76.26 per hour, depending on the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.
