Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00am–5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am–12:00pm
  • 72 hours per 2-week pay period

Medical Assistant Position Details

Job Summary: The Medical Assistant performs clinical and clerical duties to support patient care in the clinic, following established standards, competencies, and best practices.

Required Education / Certification for Medical Assistant

One of the following is required:

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) with MA diploma
  • CCMA (NHA) with one year of experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT)

Pay Range & Sign-On

  • RN: $27.25 – $40.75 | May be eligible for $10,000 sign-on
  • LPN: $22.00 – $31.00 | May be eligible for $5,000 sign-on
  • MA: $19.50 – $27.50 | May be eligible for $5,000 sign-on

What You Will Do

  • Perform general nursing care to patients
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
  • Coordinate patient care activities for the clinic
  • Prepare equipment and assist provider during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing of patients
  • Observe, record, and report patient's condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to provider
  • Oversee appointment scheduling and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations
  • Maintain timely flow of patients
  • Greet patients and prepare them for physical examination
  • Screen patients for appropriate information including obtaining health history, taking vitals, and conducting a nursing assessment
  • Document obtained information in patient chart
  • Instruct patient in collection of samples and tests
  • Respond to patient phone calls in a timely manner with appropriate input from the physician
  • Educate patients and families about diagnostic process, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness
  • Suggest solutions to patient care crisis problems and complaints
  • Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness
  • Prepare list of medical supplies needed
  • Assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocol as needed
  • Perform quality control and maintain records on all lab testing

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing: An active license in the state of practice upon hire
