Lactation Consults
This is a lactation position; this role will not be expected to perform bedside nursing care.
Weekend and Holiday Coverage
Some weekend and Holiday coverage will be required.
Policies and Procedures
Understanding policy and procedure related to basic newborn care, donor milk, and feeding routines.
Education and Support
- Responsible for inpatient consultation, educational classes, educating antepartum, postpartum and high risk patient population about benefits of breastfeeding, follow up phone calls and occasional outpatient consults.
- Providing support to provider/RN peers.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree Required
- 1-3 years bedside RN experience Required
- 1-3 years CLC experience preferred
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
- CLC-Certified Lactation Counselor - ALPP - Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice Required
- IBCLC-International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants - IBCLE - International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners
