About the role
The Interventional Radiology (IR) department performs a variety of minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging technologies. It collaborates with multiple specialties to provide comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Supports patients throughout the procedural continuum, including central venous access, image-guided drain placements, dialysis access maintenance, IVC filter placement, nephrostomy tube placement, and gastrostomy tube placement.
- Works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nephrology, urology, gastroenterology, cardiology, oncology, vascular surgery, and gynecology.
- Collaborates with the IR team to manage a high volume of procedures.
- Provides evidence-based care and continuously monitors and evaluates practice to ensure safe patient passage.
- Engages in the governance of practice, mentors colleagues, and actively seeks feedback to improve performance.
- Communicates effectively in various formats and partners with others to produce positive outcomes.
- Precepts students, nurse externs, residents, and other healthcare team members.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of inpatient medical-surgical or other acute care experience.
- Licensed RN with NH eligibility.
- BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

- Anticipates and recognizes changes in patient status, taking action to modify the plan of care or elevate to the care team as necessary.

- Engages in the governance of practice, mentors colleagues, and prioritizes and organizes time to optimize patient outcomes.
- Applies and translates the most current evidence and standards to daily practice.
- Partners with others to effect change that produces positive outcomes through the exchange of knowledge.
