Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit - Per Diem Nights

Responsible for

• Delivers patient care in accordance with ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights, and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
• Delivers patient care in accordance with specialty-specific standards (e.g., Oncology Nurses Association, American Association of Critical Care Nurses) as appropriate.
• Affirms patient plan of care based on changing health care needs.
• Evaluates patient teaching methods using appropriate education resources and assesses the effectiveness of the teaching.
• Models effective leadership skills through role modeling, mentoring, and effective communication.
• Directs ancillary staff (LPN’s, PCA’s, Tech’s, Unit Secretaries, etc.) and is knowledgeable of the NJ Scope of Practice guidelines.
• Supports a professional practice environment by functioning as a role model and resource person and participating in the orientation of new staff.
• Participates in unit-based and organization-wide activities, committees, and community events.
• Identifies personal learning needs and pursues educational support to enhance nursing practice.
• Routinely utilizes Evidence-Based Practice literature, policy manuals, and other reference materials to ensure consistent and accurate care delivery.
• Participates in the Performance Improvement process to evaluate the quality of nursing care provided to patients.

Education Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience Qualifications

• Minimum one-year current clinical experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Excellent clinical assessment skills, communication skills, and time management skills.
• Current NJ License upon hire required.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support BLS through American Heart Association upon hire required.
• National certification related to specialty area upon hire preferred.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support, PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support, NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation may be required dependent on specialty area.

Pay Range

$44.00/hour - $55.00/hour
