Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit

About the Role

Aurora Medical Center-Summit ICU is a 14-bed unit where registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, and health unit coordinators collaborate to care for trauma, surgical, cardiac, and neurological patients. The team values each member's unique skills and fosters a culture of openness, kindness, and professional growth. Staffing is reviewed every four hours to ensure optimal care for patients and support for team members.

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in the ICU, you will:

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process.
• Deliver safe, therapeutic care in line with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making in patient care.
• Lead efforts to create a safe patient environment and enhance the patient experience.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred but optional.
