Registered Nurse (RN) IMCU Acute Cardiac

About the role

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a full-time, night shift position with hours from 6:45P to 7:15A and a rotating weekend schedule. A sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 is available for qualified candidates.

The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit provides specialized care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post-coronary interventions, post-ablation care, and myocardial infarctions. The unit also manages pre- and post-catheterization patients, as well as those experiencing acute stroke.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, and health promotion, as well as evaluation.

The RN will also be expected to possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

• Acute care nursing experience is preferred
• Background in Stroke or Telemetry is preferred
• New Grad RNs are welcome to apply

Qualifications

A degree or diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program is required. A BSN or MSN is preferred.

• BLS certification is required within 90 days of hire
• Critical Care/IMCU ACLS certification is required within 1 year of hire
• NIH certification is required within 1 year of hire
