The Registered Professional Nurse independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in compliance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. The Staff Registered Professional Nurse manages care for an assigned group of patients, aligning with Northside Hospital’s philosophy and policies. The practice reflects values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment.
Responsibilities
- Independently plan and deliver professional nursing care to patients.
- Manage care for an assigned group of patients in accordance with hospital policies.
- Adhere to the Georgia Nurse Practice Act and established nursing guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and integrated patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
- Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- Additional Life Support credentials (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) or clinical specialty certifications may be required for specific units.
- Visual color acuity may be required depending on the role in specific units.
