About the role

The Registered Nurse ICU at Menorah Medical Center is a dedicated position where you can make a significant impact on patient care. This role requires a strong foundation in nursing, including advanced cardiac life support and basic cardiac life support.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's specific requirements.
• Collaborates with medical providers and other members of the care team to provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about their medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes.
• Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
• Manages evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives to meet and exceed quality measures.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan.

Requirements

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Qualifications

• Experience in ICU setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols.

Skills

• Effective communication and teaching skills.
• Proven ability to manage and improve patient care processes.
