About the role

Full-time, night 12-hour shift with rotating weekends in the ICU Critical Care Unit at St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
  • Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU.
  • Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients.
  • Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies, and abnormal results/symptomatology.
  • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital; critical care preferred.
  • Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $35.35 to $53.58 per hour. The exact starting compensation will be determined based on skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
