Registered Nurse (RN), ICU
About the role
Your Experience Matters at UP Health System - Marquette. As an ICU RN, you'll be part of a team dedicated to making communities healthier. ICU has 24 total beds with the ability to care for ICU and IMCU patient populations. The team supports various high-risk procedures and performs multiple specialized services.
Responsibilities
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
- Documents patient care given.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
- Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
- A current Michigan RN license.
- An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
- Handle with Care- Advanced certification within 90 days.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year.
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 1 year.
Qualifications
- Experience in critical care setting preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.
- Proficient in computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.

- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay
$7,500 sign-on bonus available to well-qualified applicants.
Schedule
Varied Shifts, 7-7, Rotating Weekends and Holidays.
