About the role

Your Experience Matters at UP Health System - Marquette. As an ICU RN, you'll be part of a team dedicated to making communities healthier. ICU has 24 total beds with the ability to care for ICU and IMCU patient populations. The team supports various high-risk procedures and performs multiple specialized services.

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care treatments.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patients and/or families and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Requirements

  • A current Michigan RN license.
  • An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school (bachelor's preferred).
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification.
  • Handle with Care- Advanced certification within 90 days.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within 1 year.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

  • Experience in critical care setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.
  • Proficient in computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$7,500 sign-on bonus available to well-qualified applicants.

Schedule

Varied Shifts, 7-7, Rotating Weekends and Holidays.
