Job Summary

Registered Nurses provide health care for psychiatric and chemically dependent individuals by assessing needs and implementing appropriate nursing interventions of patients, determining if a physician's attention is necessary and following orders given by a physician to ensure patients' health care needs are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and implement nursing interventions.
  • Determine if physician attention is necessary.
  • Follow physician orders to meet patients' health care needs.
  • Keep records and charts.
  • Communicate information clearly and concisely.
  • Operate medical equipment.
  • Make reports on observations.
  • Apply general nursing techniques and practices.
  • Maintain a helpful and sympathetic attitude toward patients.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Deal effectively with patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota.
  • Nursing level will be determined based on education and experience.

Qualifications

  • Professional nursing theory and practices.
  • Recent developments in the field of professional nursing applicable to the area of assignment.
  • Clinical procedures.

  • Knowledge of clinical procedures.

Pay

  • Salary: $34.26 - $40.27 Hourly, depending on qualifications.
  • Shift Differential: $2.00 pm shift, $5.00 night shift, $1.50 weekend shift, $1.00 Geriatric pay, $2.00 Adolescent pay.

Schedule

  • Shifts may vary based on departmental needs.
