Registered Nurse (RN) - Full-Time - Days - Eventide Prairie Commons

About the Role

Eventide Prairie Commons in Grand Island is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for a day shift (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM, 12 hours). This position includes a rotation of every third weekend and holidays. Scheduled days are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and alternating Saturdays/Sundays.

Ideal Candidate

• 18 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse course of study.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months of experience as an RN or LPN preferred.
• RN or LPN License in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state required.
• CPR certification required.
• Licenses/credentials must be kept up to date at the employee’s expense.
• Must meet Eventide's vaccination requirements.

Responsibilities

• Follow through on physician’s orders in accordance with Eventide's policies and procedures; receive and record physician’s orders when appropriate.
• Prepare, administer, and/or supervise administration of medication, treatments, and other nursing services as ordered by the physician and according to facility policies/procedures.
• Observe seniors/clients for any sign of adverse reaction to medications.
• Assess seniors/clients assigned to you regarding physical, mental, and psychosocial status; report condition changes in a timely manner to your immediate supervisor and follow up with family and physician as directed.
• Take and accurately record vital signs.
• Diligently observe senior/client skin per Eventide's policies and proactively take steps to avoid pressure ulcers.
• Complete procedures and document the appropriate information on the senior’s/client’s medical record in a timely manner according to Eventide's policies and procedures.
• Follow department protocol for submission of completed documentation with attention to accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide direction and monitor Med Aides delivering medications to seniors/clients.
• Follow through on the comprehensive care plan developed for each individual senior/client.
• Provide supervision and education to seniors/clients for the self-administration of medications.
• Assist in teaching the senior/client and/or caregiver necessary skills to allow the senior/client to return home when applicable.
• Assist in writing and implementing a comprehensive nursing plan of care; update the plan based on changes in the senior/client’s physical and/or emotional state.

Pay

Competitive starting pay range of $36–$40.32 per hour for RNs, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are available for select positions, paid on employment status and shift worked.
