About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at PAM Health is under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and providing patient care, including interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients admitted to the nursing unit.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning.
• Coordinate discharge planning.
• Teach patients and families about post-hospitalization care.
• Access and utilize community resources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse responsibilities (ACLS certification required).

Requirements

• RN License in the state where you are applying.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification (initially required, then required after 90 days of employment).
• ACLS certification is required from day one for Charge Nurses, High Observation Units, and Intensive Care Units.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• A few things that aren't required, but we would prefer:
• Prior experience in emergency or critical care environments.
• A higher comfort level working with ventilators, tracheostomy tubes, PICC lines, etc.
• Two years of experience in direct patient care.
