Registered Nurse (RN) Float | ICU

About the role

The position is located at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital and offers rotating shifts that include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The pay range for this position is $34.50 - $51.50 per hour, with actual pay rates dependent on experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews physician prescriptions and communicates the nursing care plan to other members of the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical condition, psychological status, and influencing social factors, and conferring with family and friends.
• Teaches healthcare requirements by establishing patient care goals, instructing patients, families, and friends on condition, medications, and self-care skills, and answering questions.
• Evaluates patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes, and modifying nursing care plans as needed.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
• Documents patient care services in patient and department records and keeps patient care equipment and supplies ready.

Requirements

The individual must be able to work the specified hours and have a registered nurse (RN) board of nursing license. One to three years of experience working in a clinical environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified.
• Must have visual acuity adequate to perform position duties and the ability to communicate effectively with others.

Skills

Knowledge of several departments and adherence to safe and appropriate patient care protocols as set forth in the standards of practice and the unit/department policy and procedures.
