Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains patient records and ensures accurate documentation.
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Requirements

  • A current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
  • An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire.
  • STABLE certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC) preferred.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC) preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software applications relevant to the role.

Pay

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

2x12 per 6 weeks; 2 weekend shifts per quarter; 2 holidays per year.
