Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
- Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
- Documents patient care given.
- Maintains patient records and ensures accurate documentation.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment for patients, families, and staff.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Requirements
- A current Tennessee or compact state RN license.
- An associate's degree from an accredited nursing school.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) within 90 days of hire.
- STABLE certification within 90 days of hire.
- Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months of hire.
- Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC) preferred.
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ENPC) preferred.
Qualifications
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software applications relevant to the role.

Pay
Commensurate with experience.
Schedule
2x12 per 6 weeks; 2 weekend shifts per quarter; 2 holidays per year.
