Job Responsibilities
- Triage patients based on the critical nature and severity of their condition.
- Absorb patient conditions through visual evaluation, medication reconciliation, and vital sign measurements.
- Administer medication and assist with medical procedures as directed by the physician.
- Maintain vigilance for changes in patient condition and communicate effectively with relevant parties.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in providing treatments, interventions, and discharge processes.
- Accurately chart patient medical history, contact information, condition, medications, and treatment updates in the electronic medical record.
- Discharge patients from the Emergency Department after treatment, providing discharge instructions, educating the patient or caregiver, and confirming transportation.
Education Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse Program by date of hire.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of Critical Care experience.
- Preferred two (2) years of Emergency Department experience.
License/Certification Requirements
- Registered Nurse license to practice in the state of Indiana upon hire date.
- Required certifications:
- BLS - Basic Life Support
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
